Organ transplantation is a surgical procedure in which a non-functioning organ is replaced with a healthy organ in patients with end-stage organ failure. Liver and kidney transplantation are important treatment options that can significantly improve survival and quality of life in appropriately selected patients.
The transplantation process is planned through detailed evaluation of both the patient and the donor, compatibility testing, and a multidisciplinary approach. Individualized and evidence-based criteria are applied for each patient.
Conditions Requiring Liver Transplantation
- End-stage liver failure (cirrhosis, etc.)
- Acute liver failure
- Certain metabolic and genetic liver diseases
Conditions Requiring Kidney Transplantation
- Chronic kidney failure
- End-stage renal disease
- Polycystic kidney disease
Transplant eligibility is determined after detailed clinical evaluation and necessary diagnostic testing.
